Privacy Policy
Effective October 15, 2026
The short version: Stikka keeps your stickers, places and photos on your iPhone. We don't collect your information, we never see where you go, and we never sell or share it.
Who we are
Stikka is made by Matrix26 LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains how the Stikka app for iPhone handles your information.
What we collect
Nothing. Stikka does not collect, store, or send any personal information to us. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. The app does not send your location, your stickers, or any identifier or usage data to a server run by us.
Your location
Stikka is a game about being somewhere, so it uses your location, and it does so on your iPhone:
- To check you're really there. Your phone compares where you are with nearby places, and how long you've stayed, to decide whether you've earned a sticker. That check happens on your phone.
- To find places near you. Stikka uses Apple Maps (built into iOS) to look up nearby places and the name of the town you're in, and to show the map. Those requests include the area you're in and go to Apple, under Apple's privacy policy. They never come to us, and we can't see them.
- Only while you use it. Stikka asks for location "While Using the App". It doesn't track you in the background.
- Faked locations. To keep things fair, Stikka can tell when a location is reported as simulated by software, and doesn't award stickers for it. That check also happens on your phone.
What stays on your device
To work, Stikka saves the following only on your own iPhone:
- Your stickers and stamps: each place's name, collection, town and position, when you earned it, how many times you've been back, and whether it was after dark
- Finds waiting to be claimed (they disappear after 12 hours)
- Your books and decks: names, covers, where each sticker sits, your marker drawings and extras
- Photos and notes you add to a sticker
- Your Slam Book: what you had, your ratings, tags, and the names of anyone you say you were with
- Your Faves rankings, your pins, your map buddy, the name on your Collector Card, and your settings
This information may also be included in your device's own backups (such as iCloud Backup) if you have them turned on. Those backups are managed by Apple under your Apple Account and Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to them.
Permissions the app may ask for
- Location (While Using the App): to check you're at a place and show you on the map, as described above.
- Motion & Fitness: so driving or sitting at a red light next to a café never counts as a visit. Your phone tells Stikka whether you're likely driving; the motion data stays on your phone.
- Camera: only if you choose to take a photo for a sticker.
- Photos (add only): only if you save a share card to your Photos. Stikka can't see your photo library. If you pick a photo from your library for a sticker, Apple's picker gives Stikka only the photos you choose.
Stikka doesn't use your microphone or contacts, and doesn't send notifications.
Sharing
Stikka never shares anything on its own. If you tap Share on a page, a book, a deck, your Top 10, your stats or a pin, the picture is made on your phone and Apple's share screen opens so you choose where it goes. Share cards can show place names, towns and dates, and the name on your Collector Card. You can turn your name and the dates off on the share screen. Keep in mind that sharing where you've been tells people where you've been.
Emailing us
If you use Report a bug or Suggest a feature in Settings, your Mail app opens with a message to us. It includes the Stikka version, your iPhone model and iOS version, so we can help. Nothing is sent until you send it. We use your message and email address only to reply and improve Stikka.
Purchases
If Stikka offers in-app purchases (for example new map buddies), they are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your name, Apple Account, or payment details.
Children
Stikka is for everyone, families included. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children. Kids who use Stikka should use it with a grown-up, since it's about going places.
Deleting your information
You can remove everything by deleting the app from your phone. You can also toss a find you didn't earn, throw out a book, and delete photos or Slam Book entries in the app.
Changes
If we ever change this policy (for example, if a future version adds iCloud saving, optional anonymous counts of which places get collected, or friends), we'll update this page and the date above before that version is released. Features like these would be off unless you turn them on. Because we don't collect contact information, we can't notify you directly, so we'll keep this page short and clear.
