Privacy Policy

The short version: GetKraken keeps your information on your iPhone. We don't collect it, we can't see it, and we never sell or share it.

Who we are

GetKraken is made by Matrix26 LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains how the GetKraken app for iPhone handles your information.

What we collect

Nothing. GetKraken does not collect, store, or send any personal information to us or to anyone else. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. The app does not send any identifier or usage data to a server run by us or by anyone else.

What stays on your device

To work, GetKraken saves the following only on your own iPhone:

• Your dives: when they happened, how long they lasted, and how deep your Kraken went
• Your prey (the tasks you add) and their dive lengths
• Your treasures, junk, Seaweed, achievements, trophies, and the sea life you've spotted
• Your streak, your weekly goal, and your bedtime timers
• The names you choose to give yourself and your Kraken, and your settings

This information may also be included in your device's own backups (such as iCloud Backup) if you have them turned on. Those backups are managed by Apple under your Apple Account and Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to them.

Backups you make

Settings → Keep your treasures safe → Back up my save creates a file on your phone. Apple's own share screen opens and you choose where it goes. The file is yours; we never receive it. Restoring a backup reads that file on your phone.

Sharing pictures and clips

GetKraken never shares anything on its own. If you tap "Share a picture" or "Make a clip", the picture or video is made on your phone, and Apple's share screen opens so you choose where it goes. It can show your depth, your treasures, and the Captain and Kraken names you've set.

Permissions the app may ask for

• Notifications: to tell you when a dive or a break ends, if you turn on Settings → Notifications. They are created on your phone; nothing is sent through us.

That's the only permission GetKraken asks for. Sounds and music are made on your phone, and the app never uses your microphone, camera, location, or contacts.

Purchases

If GetKraken offers in-app purchases, they are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your name, Apple Account, or payment details. The app checks with Apple, on your phone, which purchases you own.

Children

GetKraken is rated 4+ and made for everyone, families included. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.

Using GetKraken in a web browser

If you use GetKraken in a web browser, the app's files are downloaded from our web host, which may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address) for security. We don't use them to identify you. Everything you do in the app still stays in your browser.

Deleting your information

You can remove everything by deleting the app from your phone (or, in a web browser, by clearing the site's data). Any backup files you made are yours to keep or delete.

Changes

If we ever change this policy (for example, if a future version offers optional anonymous usage counts, or diving together with a friend), we'll update this page and the date above before that version is released. Optional features like these would be off unless you turn them on. Because we don't collect contact information, we can't notify you directly, so we'll keep this page short and clear.
